There are very few American cities that have the pirate history of Charleston, SC!  On our Pirates of Charleston tour, hear about the antics and exploits of nefarious characters, as well as the ingenious tactics they employed to commandeer ships, evade capture, and strike fear in the hearts of their victims.

Learn all about the exciting life of pirates as your expert guide shares with you his passion for this romantic bygone era.  You will see places where pirates once caroused with their mates, suffered imprisonment, and were even hanged.
   

First stop at the Queen’s Staircase as your guide explains the significance of this creation and have the option to walk up to the top of the staircase and meet your taxi there.

While at the top of the staircase, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a brief visit to Fort Fincastle.

Continue your tour, as you drive by Parliament Square, the Governor’s Mansion, Gregory’s Arch and some residential areas while your guide informs you about the island’s history along the way.

Pass by Cable Beach and while you stop at Fort Charlotte for a short break, enjoy the opportunity to take some photos of the outside of this historical fort.

Then, continue on to the Pirates of Nassau and discover what life must have been like on the high seas in the 1700’s. See a three-quarter-length replica schooner, as she would have been in 1716.

Walk through the lower decks and you may come face to face with the likes of Blackbeard, Capt. Woodes Rodgers and the women pirates, Ann Bonny and Mary Read. Experience the golden age of piracy, as it’s been recreated with exacting detail in an interactive attraction with your pirate guide leading the way.
