Sailing Tours on the "Mental Heeling"

The "Mental Heeling" is a 1988 30ft Catalina MKII. This vessel can carry groups of up to 6 people and have ample cockpit and deck space for you to move around. Seating below includes a saloon (dining area) and a head (toilet). Geechee Girl Tours offers privately chartered day and evening water excursions. The itinerary of every tour is tailored towards your interests; you’re the captain, we’re the guides. USCG Licensed Captain Jay Keeney has years of water experience as well as local Charleston knowledge. You can relax and enjoy yourself as we guide you along the Battery, up the Wando River or out into the ocean all while supplying you with facts and historical knowledge. The motor yacht, "Geechee Girl", is a 21-foot African River Queen style boat that is ideal for sightseeing in comfort. Her design provides stability and is optimum for exploring shallow and narrow areas. This enables us to bring you closer to spectacular Low-country wildlife, the Battery, Fort Sumter, Castle Pinckney and all other sights – much closer than any other commercial tour in the Charleston Harbor.

The tour lasts approximately 2-3 hours and meets either at Shem Creek (Geechee Girl) or The Harborage (Mental Heeling)
